Frequently Asked Questions

Do you run a beginner’s course?

I don’t run a specific beginners course because I find people learn faster when they work in a mixed ability group. I make sure all new participants are given plenty of time and attention to ensure they are getting the most out of the class and am happy to answer questions via email or facebook outside of the class.

What do I need to bring to the class?

You will need a Pilates mat, please see my mat advice page on the best type of mat to buy. Many people start off with cheaper yoga mats, but I would recommend investing in a thicker Pilates mat from the start as it will make a big difference to your experience and enjoyment of Pilates.

What do I need to wear?

Any loose, comfortable clothing is fine, you don’t have to wear lycra or sports kit. I would suggest you bring a fleece to wear at the start of the class.

Do I have to have bare feet?

No, you can if you wish, but socks or trainers are fine, whichever is most comfortable for you.

Is there an age limit?

I am only insured to work with clients from the age of 16, so I am afraid I cannot accept under 16’s. There is no upper age limited, however, most of the class is done lying on a mat, so if you have mobility issues, you may be more comfortable in my classes at Dolphin Centre, Bromsgrove, where I also have an over 60’s class.
